Eye Protection
Safety glasses protect your eyes from hazards such as dust,
flying objects or particles that may strike you from in front.
Today's safety glasses are made for style as well as protection.
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) sets standards
for safety glasses. Safety glasses must withstand the impact of a
quarter inch steel ball traveling 150 feet per second. Standard
prescription glasses cannot provide this kind of protection.
Frames stamped with the imprint "Z87" meet stringent standards for
strength and heat resistance.
It is important to remember that standard safety glasses
protect against impact from the front only. For this reason,
UR Safety Products Group offers glasses with
side shields to provide protection for
tasks such as sanding, buffing, and drill press
work. We also carry goggles and face shields
for protection from above and below
as well as the side for lathe work or other high
speed cutting and shaping operations. We also carry eye
wash that is a must have supply in case of an emergency eye injury
due to chemicals.
